Carol Sabo is an experienced leader who serves as Mayor of West Cape May. A social worker, educator, and lifelong public servant. Before entering education, Carol worked in Child Protective Services, advocating for families and children throughout Cape May County.
She has been a tireless advocate for working families—championing pro-labor policies, supporting small businesses, and prioritizing affordable housing in her community of West Cape May.

As Mayor, Carol has championed affordability, environmental protections, and sustainable economic growth, ensuring that West Cape May remains a thriving and inclusive community. With firsthand experience in social work and education, she understands the real challenges families face—from access to quality healthcare and education to economic stability and affordable housing.

Carol’s commitment to putting people first has guided her work in labor advocacy, community organizing, and government leadership. A proud union member for decades, she has served on negotiation teams, government relations committees, and human and civil rights initiatives. Her deep understanding of legislative processes and her ability to build consensus make her ready to fight for the people of Legislative District 1 on day one.

With a proven track record of service, advocacy, and leadership, Carol is running for Assembly to ensure that every resident—no matter their background—has a voice in shaping a stronger, fairer, and more affordable New Jersey.
Carol has championed affordability first-hand in West Cape May, where she brought Habitat for Humanity into the Boro of West Cape. She successfully ensured that two Habitat Houses will be built in West Cape May, ensuring that more families can afford to live in our district!
